Deep dive

Senken helps companies procure carbon credits with strong evidence and low greenwashing risk. The platform offers carbon removal credits from nature- and technology-based projects such as afforestation, peatland rewetting, regenerative agriculture, biochar, and enhanced weathering, with indicative pricing around €20–€400 per tonne. For smaller needs, Senken Checkout enables a purchase in minutes (up to 500 credits), while larger programmes can be tailored for organisations neutralising more than 5,000 tCO2 per year.

Every project is filtered through Senken’s Sustainability Integrity Index, which assesses 600+ data points across additionality, quantification accuracy, permanence, co-benefits, and reputational and delivery risk. Senken says it rejects about 95% of market projects. For approved credits, Senken provides a “Defense Kit” of audit-ready documentation plus machine-readable datasets that support reporting under frameworks such as CSRD, CDP, and SBTi.

Teams can build science-aligned portfolios, track deliveries and co-benefits in a dashboard, and receive certificates for internal and external communications. Senken also emphasises that registry certification alone is not enough, so it layers independent ratings and methodology screening on top of its own review. Prominent clients include Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, and DZ Bank.
