Deep dive

NextLap Tech Hub 2.0 functions as a specialised service provider and innovation acceleration programme dedicated to advancing circular-economy solutions for end-of-life tyres (ELT). The initiative is managed by Valorpneu, Portugal’s national ELT management system, in collaboration with Beta-i, an established innovation consultancy. Together, they deliver a structured framework that enables innovators, startups, and technology developers to identify opportunities within tyre recycling and to rapidly test and implement their ideas.

As a service provider, NextLap Tech Hub 2.0 offers a comprehensive set of acceleration, validation, and piloting services. This includes expert mentoring, technical scoping, access to real industrial environments, matchmaking with sector stakeholders, and guidance on regulatory and operational requirements. The programme supports the creation of new applications for recycled rubber, enhanced recovery technologies, digital traceability solutions, and advanced material research.

NextLap also acts as an ecosystem connector, bringing together recyclers, manufacturers, logistics providers, academics, and innovators to collaborate on market-ready solutions. Rather than providing software, the programme delivers hands-on support that helps participants understand the ELT value chain, strengthen business models, test prototypes, and transition from concept to deployment.

By integrating technical expertise, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and real-world pilot environments, NextLap Tech Hub 2.0 accelerates the development of high-impact circular technologies and reinforces the sustainability of the tyre industry.
