EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)

Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) is a major European Union (EU) law that establishes mandatory human rights and environmental due diligence obligations for large companies operating in the EU.

It requires companies to identify, prevent, mitigate, and account for adverse impacts on human rights, the environment, and climate throughout their operations, subsidiaries, and global value chains.

The CSDDD aims to make corporate responsibility for sustainability legally enforceable and to align business practices with the EU Green Deal and international standards, such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
