UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)

Summary

UK Research and Innovation is the United Kingdom’s national funding agency for research and innovation. It was established to bring together the country’s main public research funding bodies into a single organisation, to improve coordination, strategic focus, and impact across the research and innovation system. UKRI oversees and coordinates nine constituent councils, including the seven UK Research Councils, Innovate UK, and Research England. Together, these bodies support a broad range of activities spanning fundamental science, applied research, industrial innovation, and skills development. UKRI funds universities, research institutes, businesses, and collaborative partnerships across all disciplines.
