Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)

A Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) measures the total greenhouse gas emissions, expressed in CO₂ equivalents, generated throughout a product's life. This "cradle-to-grave" view includes extracting raw materials, manufacturing, transportation, use, and final disposal or recycling. Think of it as a climate impact score for an item, like a loaf of bread or a t-shirt. A lower PCF means the product contributes less to climate change, helping consumers make informed choices and companies reduce their environmental impact.
