Core Features
LiveCycle’s approach is to treat LCA as a continuously maintained model, automating what can be automated (data ingestion, proxy matching, quality scoring) while keeping users in control of assumptions, traceability, and reviewer access. Its main features include:
BOM-first modelling at portfolio scale — Import BOMs (Excel/CSV) or connect to ERP/PLM systems to generate end-to-end product models and reuse processes across SKUs.
Supplier engagement workflows — Built-in supplier engagement modules to enrich models with primary data rather than relying only on secondary datasets.
AI proxy matching and data interpretation — Uses AI proxy matching for missing data and AI-assisted mapping/interpretation while keeping the modelling workflow transparent.
Data Quality Rating and reporting — Generates data-quality ratings and reports across models, designed to highlight weak spots and guide improvements.
Scenario, hotspot and benchmark analysis — Compares scenarios and benchmarks products, with hotspot analysis to focus reduction efforts where they matter most.
Audit-ready exports and reviewer access — Exports models/results and supports scoped third-party reviewer access to speed up certification-style review.
Closing Insights
LiveCycle was built inside BrightWolves, a Brussels-based strategy and sustainability consultancy. BrightWolves was doing LCAs for clients and kept hitting the same limits: slow modelling, scattered supplier data, and results that become outdated as BOMs and background datasets change. LiveCycle launched in June 2025 as BrightWolves’ first spin-off, backed by more than €1 million from BrightWolves and impact investor Astanor.
LiveCycle fits best where product-level evidence is non-negotiable—especially in Europe, where CSRD/ESRS increases pressure to substantiate environmental reporting and the EU is tightening rules on environmental claims (the Green Claims Directive). This is most relevant for consumer goods and ingredient suppliers selling into EU retailers, and for distributors that need comparable footprint data across categories. LiveCycle positions itself around Scope 3 supplier footprint visibility and lists teams such as Beneo, Kemin, and NVZ among users. It also targets investors seeking product-level data.
Commercially, LiveCycle publishes subscription pricing starting at €375/month (Professional) and €420/month (Enterprise – single product line). Enterprise plans are priced by SKU coverage and include options such as supplier/customer engagement modules, full API access and third-party reviewer access. It also bundles training (a two-day LCA Academy) and onboarding support via BrightWolves’ LCA experts.
