Introduction
EMIDAT is a Munich‑based product management platform that enables manufacturers of building materials to generate and manage product‑level environmental data. The platform automates life‑cycle assessments (LCAs) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) workflows as well as the creation of Digital Product Passports (DPPs). It simplifies collection of primary data, links to over 150,000 published EPDs and integrates via API with existing ERP systems. EMIDAT works with leading EPD Program Operators, including INIES, IBU, EPD Global, EPD International, SmartEPD (US) and MRPI to verify and publish environmental data. With the revised Construction Products Regulation (CPR) now in force, manufacturers will need to make verified environmental data available as part of the digital product passports (DPPs). The free EMIDAT Atlas will be one of the EU-compliant decentralized DPP databases.
Pricing
EMIDAT runs as a cloud-based SaaS platform with annual licenses. Manufacturers receive full access to automated LCA, EPD and DPP workflows under a single annual license that scales with the number of production plants and products. Pricing is not published and is provided through a custom quote after a short demo.
Integrations
LCA Databases (ecoinvent)
Program Operators for verified EPDs (INIES, IBU, EPD Global, EPD International)
Notified Bodies for DPP verification

Expert Voices & Reviews
Our customers have praised us for our leadership in quality and scalability.
We know that we will need a scalable process for creating and verifying our environmental product data in the future. Verification today is usually expensive and slow. EMDAT provides a scalable solution that allows us to quickly deliver high-quality, verified data to our customers. - Roman Lentz, CSO, Schwenk

Case Study
Novoferm brings EPDs in-house and scales to 80% portfolio coverage with EMIDAT
Novoferm is is one of Europe's leading manufacturers providing door solutions and docking systems. To respond to rising customer demands and prepare for regulations such as the Digital Product Passport (DPP), the company set the goal of providing environmental transparency for more than 80% of its products. Novoferm chose EMIDAT to digitalise and scale its EPD process.
Before using EMIDAT, the EPD process was fully outsourced. Data was gathered manually across departments and sent to external consultants for modelling and verification. The process created the required documents but offered little transparency. Teams could not see how material or dataset choices influenced results, which limited their ability to translate the data into design or procurement decisions.
The EMIDAT impact
Teams gained full visibility and control. Updates and corrections could be done immediately without waiting for external partners or restarting the process.
Team members without prior LCA experience could get started in about 30 minutes.
EPD creation time was reduced by approximately three months per product.
The license paid for itself after producing two to three EPDs. Traditional consultant-led EPDs cost around €8,000 to €10,000 each.
Ownership of the process enabled deeper understanding and product optimisation.
Novoferm aims to reach at least 80 percent portfolio coverage group-wide. With EMIDAT, the company can manage its EPD process in-house and use it to continuously improve its products.
Core Features
Efficient Data Collection: With EMIDAT, you can build LCAs with primary material data through API integration or bulk uploads, automatically link to 150,000 EPDs or average ecoinvent datasets and invite suppliers when an EPD does not exist. This helps to increasingly replace conservative averages with product-specific values, allowing you to see each raw material’s GWP and prioritise which EPDs to pursue.
Easy to Use: EMIDAT is built for manufacturers who know their products and processes best. The guided setup helps manufacturers handle the EPD process independently, even for non- LCA-experts, reducing back‑and‑forth and saving weeks of coordination time.
Fast Verification & Global Coverage: You model your product once and EMIDAT automatically adapts it to the requirements of each Program Operator and Norm, from dataset mappings to country‑specific rules and verifier collaboration. This means your EPDs can be published across multiple databases without duplicate work, giving you faster access to new markets and keeping your products visible across Europe and beyond.
Turn your EPD data into a sales advantage: EMIDAT provides sales teams with a centralised library of all product profiles, giving them a clear overview of the portfolio and the ability to compare performance across products. For each project or tender they can quickly create customised product lists that show the CO₂ footprint of selected materials and export them as ready‑to‑submit PDF declarations, helping win projects faster with verified data at hand.
Preparation for CPR & DPP: EMIDAT is built to align with the next generation of product data regulations. Once the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and Digital Product Passport (DPP) frameworks are finalised, your existing data models will already meet the required structure and transparency standards. That means no rework, no new formats; your product information will be ready for compliance and publication from day one. The free EMIDAT Atlas (link to search) will become a compliant DPP database.
Sound Product Analysis: EMIDAT provides a detailed breakdown of all impact indicators and hotspots, giving you full visibility into your product’s life‑cycle. By analysing the contribution of each material, process and stage you can pinpoint environmental hotspots, optimise designs and back improvement decisions with verified data.
Closing Insights
Demand for verified sustainable materials is rising faster than most manufacturers can keep up with. Low‑carbon and circular materials are already shaping how projects are financed, designed and procured. The question for every manufacturer is no longer whether to act. It is how to make sustainability a competitive advantage. EMIDAT supports this transition through Climate‑native Product Management.
This approach treats environmental performance as a core product property rather than an afterthought. Environmental intelligence is integrated into every product decision and connects everyone involved in making better products, enabling benefits across the organisation. LCA managers gain visibility and control over their product data. Leadership teams gain assurance and transparency for strategic decisions. Product and procurement teams can design and source more efficiently. Sales teams can respond more rapidly to customer expectations with verified information.
The result is Quality at Scale. Data accuracy, verification and usability converge in one connected system that supports the entire organization. What started as scalable EPD automation has evolved into a full environmental data infrastructure. The EMIDAT platform now unites EPDs, DPPs, Declarations of Performance and LCAs in one verified workflow. Manufacturers can finally manage climate performance with the same precision as cost or quality.
