Eco-design
Eco-design is a systematic approach to developing products, services, and systems that minimizes negative environmental impacts throughout their entire life cycle — from raw material extraction and manufacturing to use, maintenance, and end-of-life management. It integrates environmental considerations into every design decision, aiming to reduce resource consumption, energy use, pollution, and waste while maintaining or improving performance, quality, and user value. Eco-design promotes durability, reparability, recyclability, and the use of renewable or low-impact materials. It also encourages circular-economy strategies such as reuse and closed-loop processes. At its core, eco-design seeks to balance environmental protection, economic feasibility, and social responsibility, ensuring more sustainable and efficient solutions.
