E-Waste
E-waste, or electronic waste, refers to discarded electrical and electronic equipment that has reached the end of its useful life or is no longer wanted. It includes items such as computers, mobile phones, televisions, printers, household appliances, batteries, cables, and other digital devices. E-waste often contains hazardous substances like lead, mercury, cadmium, and flame retardants, which can harm human health and the environment if not managed properly. At the same time, it contains valuable materials such as gold, copper, and rare earth elements that can be recovered through responsible recycling. E-waste management involves collection, reuse, repair, refurbishment, recycling, and safe disposal methods aimed at reducing pollution, conserving resources, and promoting a circular economy.
